Coaching clinic a great success

Tony Tinworth, Sunday, 25 March 2012

The Zone 9 Coaching Committee under the leadership of Len Hyde conducted a coaching
clinic with a total booking of 140 Bowlers (including coaches) from 24 clubs in the zone.
The bowlers both male and female,
ranged in experience from beginners to club and zone
champions
. All gathered at the magnificent Belrose Bowling Club on 6 March 2012 for a
day of lectures and on the green practice. Topics from the newly published Lawn Bowler’s
Manual were comprehensively covered in theory during the indoor presentations and all
attendees especially enjoyed their practice on the greens with guidance from our very
experienced coaches. The 14 coaches from 12 Bowling Clubs were on hand to correct
some of the bad habits accumulated by some bowlers.

The aim of this coaching clinic was to both improve skills and learn about new improved
delivery techniques for
bowlers of all grades and we do apologise
to all the bowlers who
tried to enrol but were turned away. We had limited places so remember to book early
the next time another clinic is organised.
