THE  FORESTER'S  PLUNDERING

        LEFT  NOTHING  TO  THE

               IMAGINATION

PUT it down to a combination of sheer determination due to such a long flag drought . . .  or just maybe it was their colourful "new look" shirts . . .  whatever the reason Forestville RSL played like men possessed.

Over all those years Forestville have been knocking on the door, so it was only a matter of time before they reaped their just reward, and unfortunately Mosman were the recipients of their intent when they rocketed to a 21 shot lead after 24 ends.

To Mosman's credit they played their hearts out and appeared to be totally oblivious of the score, even after 48 ends with the big board showing 62-23.

Good sportsmanship was paramount from both sides and Forestville's win was also a win for the "smaller" clubs, who this year attributed to an even spread of winners from the 2s to the 7s, which can only be great for both the zone and the sport.

FOOTNOTE: It looked curtains for Mosman in their round 2 game against Mona Vale which went down to the last end. Mosman were  down and had the last bowl. Five of their bowls finished about a foot from the edge of the green and the jack conveniently in the pit.

The Foresters can start practising their guitars and banjos as there off to the country's capital of country music . . . Tamworth.
