MONA VALE INTO GRADE 2 STATE FINAL

Mark Alexander, Sunday, 6 August 2017

Sensational news from Wagga with the Mona Vale Grade 2 side into the BNSW GRADE 2 STATE FINAL to be played against Moruya.

A close match throughout Mona Vale surged ahead to lead by 12 with 7 ends to play and then by 6 with just 2 to play.  The boys from Inverell East finished strongly to tie the scores at 56-56 after 63 ends.  Some believed Inverell had therefore won courtesy of having scored 2 rink wins but the COP required an extra end to be played.  With 2 rinks finished their extra end it came down to the last bowl of the match played by Steve (Chook) Clark who removed the Inverell shot bowl with a precision on-shot to claim 5 shots and a 61-60 victory for Mona Vale in an epic contest.

Good luck to the Mona Vale boys this afternoon!!
