Taylor Bowls Super Challenge launched

Tony Tinworth, Friday, 5 March 2010

It's great to see some innovation in competitions being conducted by clubs within our Zone.

Lindfield Club are organising their 'Powerbowls Pairs' - see story on the website- for individual entries and now North Sydney and Belrose are hosting the 'Taylor Bowls NSW Super Challenge' for clubs. This event is now in it's second year and this year there are 8 clubs competing - 5 from Zone 9 and 3 from outside the Zone. Each club enters 12 players who will play 1 singles match, 2 Pairs, 1 Triples and 1 Fours match in round robin format in sections of 4 sides at 2 venues. The venues and the clubs competing at each are:

At Belrose             Asquith                    At North Sydney            North Sydney
                               Belrose                                                            Bondi
                               Dee Why                                                          Double Bay
                               Harbord                                                            Northmead

Play is at night, under lights on Wednesdays 17th, 24th & 31st March with the finals on 7th April at Belrose.

Members of clubs participating are being encouraged to roll up and support their team but members of all clubs will be made welcome and should see some great games.

Phil Westcott (North Sydney) is the organiser and will answer any questions about the competition. He can be contacted on 0416 127677 or at pmwestcott@optusnet.com.au. He will update us on results so you can follow the competition via the website.
