First round results for Taylor Bowls Super Challenge

Tony Tinworth, Saturday, 20 March 2010

The first round of the Taylor Bowls Super Challenge was played on last  Wednesday evening and Phil Wescott reports that results were as follows.

Belrose 9 points defeated Asquith 2
Harbord 9 def. Dee Why 2
North Sydney 9 def. Northmead 2
Double Day 10 def Bondi 1

There are 5 matches per round - 1 singles, 2 Pairs, 1 Triples & 1 Fours- with 1 point for a win plus 6 points an overall win so winning overall is the big thing. Matches are being played at Belrose and North Sydney and seems the 'home' teams might have an advantage!

There were some very close games: Peter Lynn (Dee Why), after leading 23/15 was overhauled by Michael Cleaver (Harbord) who won 25/24 and Jamen Lewis (North Sydney) scored 2 shots on the last end to defeat Shannon White (Northmead) also 25/24
